Patriots legend Julian Edelman revealed his Year 3 expectations for Drake Maye in an exclusive interview with Patriots Wire.

BOSTON, Mass — It has become quite clear that the New England Patriots have their quarterback in Drake Maye. The 2024 first-round pick had an impressive rookie season, but it was last year when the quarterback truly showed what he was capable of, taking major steps forward and helping lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl. However, they fell just short, and in that final game, it highlighted one major thing that Maye has to work on going forward.

Patriots Wire spoke with Julian Edelman at Sam Adams' Our City, Our Tap event, where the legendary wide receiver was debuting his new beer, and he highlighted what he wants to specifically see from Maye this upcoming season. "Year three, I want to see how he deals with the offensive line when they are not performing at their best," Edelman explained. "There's going to be times where you can't get them blocked, but we still got to produce.

And I think that's going to be the natural progression in his progession. " But the best thing that Maye has going for him is working with Josh McDaniels for a second-straight season. "Another year in the same system.

This will be Year Two with Josh McDaniels," Edelman added. "I think they're naturally going to get better together the longer they play together. Seeing him being able to handle those types of situations.
