Gerry McNamara has taken over as head coach for Adrian Autry, and that could mean a shift in recruiting philosophies, too. It's too early to make any sweeping judgments, but the Orange got some great news on Monday. ESPN's Jonathan Givony has reported that Mark Morano Mahmutovic has committed to play at SU.
Mahmutovic is a 6-foot-7 wing from Slovenia who is 19 years old. He shoots 39% in his recorded career from 3-point range, and at last year's FIBA U18 Eurobasket tournament, Mahmutovic was second in scoring. He hails from the same country as NBA superstar Luka Doncic, who has paved a pathway for young Slovenian hoopers to pursue big dreams.
