USC men’s basketball’s Jerry Easter to enter transfer portal
Last week, the Trojans saw their first player enter the transfer portal this offseason
There will be no Easter at USC this year. Well, not on the basketball court, at least. Last week, 247Sports reported that USC men’s basketball freshman Jerry Easter II will be entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Easter arrived at USC as a top-55 recruit in the class of 2025. As a true freshman with the Trojans this season, he averaged 4. 4 points and 1.
1. rebounds per game in 17. 4 minutes per contest.
In a different era, Easter would have been a candidate to be a breakout player with the Trojans next season. In today’s era of college basketball, however, players who do not immediately earn significant playing time tend to enter the transfer portal in search of opportunities elsewhere. Easter is the first Trojan to announce his plans to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
