Yahoo Sports

Philadelphia 76ers big man Dominick Barlow is continuing to make an impact beyond the box score while on the floor.

PHILADELPHIA -- When one looks at the season averages for Philadelphia 76ers big man Dominick Barlow, one will not be blown away. He's averaging 7. 9 points and 4.

7 rebounds, but the 4-year big man from Overtime Elite is making his presence out on the floor. Barlow is one of those players who makes a big impact without having any big numbers. After a recent win over the Washington Wizards, he received praise from Tyrese Maxey who called him a "star in his role" .

Whether it's moving his feet on the defensive end, being in the right spots on either end, or tapping a rebound to a teammate or making the right block out, Barlow continues to make winning plays that don't show up in the box score. "Just play hard," Barlow explained. "I try to play as smart as possible, not make mistakes, contribute to winning.

At the end of the day, the box score is never going to tell the whole story of the game. There's a bunch of guys in the league to average between 25 and 30, but we all rank players at a certain spot because of the other stuff, and the box score doesn't always matter in that aspect. " Barlow is never going to average 25-to-30 points in a game, but what he will do is continue to make those impactful plays and continue to go off the way he knows how--find a way to help the Sixers win games.
