FSU athletics partners with AI company to enhance storytelling
FSU athletics partnered with FanWord on March 23 to automate game recaps and player bios, providing equal media representation.
Florida State athletics and over 190 other athletic organizations have joined an innovative partnership with FanWord , an AI storytelling company, to enhance their sports reporting. The platform uses AI technology to boost coverage and provide equal media opportunities for every athlete and sport. This partnership provides students with faster access to recaps and player information through the Seminoles’ existing websites and social media channels.
By streamlining news production, FSU’s athletic communication teams can increase the volume of content for the student body while maintaining full editorial control. FanWord aims to simplify college athletic communication, producing stories five times faster without sacrificing university control. “This partnership reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of how college athletics communicates and connects,” FSU Deputy Athletics Director for Strategic Communications Doug Walker said in a press release.
“As well as a meaningful step forward as we continue to evolve how we tell our story. FanWord provides a platform that enhances our ability to produce high-quality content at scale, while still relying on the judgment and creativity of our staff. ” How does AI boost player visibility?
The company offers FanWord Assist and FanWord Stories, programs that the Garnet and Gold athletics plans to incorporate to assist with game recaps, player bios, feature stories, online interviews, and built-in transcriptions. FanWord is designed specifically for athletic communication teams, making their jobs easier without affecting the quality of released media. By combining AI technology and human review, the platform increases content production while staying true to the Florida State brand.
