The two players took nearly 90 per cent of the votes in the TalkingPoints poll, pulling far ahead of the rest. Alcaraz comes into the tournament as both defending champion and favourite, but Sinner’s recent form is hard to ignore.

He’s been in excellent shape this season, picking up titles at Indian Wells and Miami earlier in March. Despite never having lifted the trophy, Jannik Sinner is being backed by Tennishead readers to come out on top at this year’s Monte Carlo Masters. Sinner collected 49 per cent of the total vote, while Alcaraz wasn’t far behind at 40 per cent.

Alexander Zverev finished third in the poll, bringing in 3. 82 per cent of the overall votes. Stefanos Tsitsipas, a three-time champion in Monte Carlo, secured just 2.

55 per cent of the 314 votes cast in the TalkingPoints poll. Lorenzo Musetti also had little support, with just under one per cent of fans picking him to go one better than last year’s runner-up finish. Both times he fell short—losing to Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas. This year, Sinner will begin his campaign against either Ugo Humbert or Moise Kouame in the second round. A potential third-round matchup could see him face Francisco Cerundolo, who recently won the Argentina Open.
