Why does UConn-Michigan national title game start so late?

If you're an early riser, you might not be thrilled about yet another late NCAA men's national championship game. Monday night's UConn-Michigan game will determine who wins this year's national title, but tipoff won't commence until 8:50 p. m.
ET in Indianapolis. That is brutal for anyone with an early Tuesday wakeup time. Why does the NCAA have the game this late?
Are they worried about West Coast fans missing out on the action? Are they just determined to leave us all feeling groggy for the morning so we can stay up for "One Shining Moment? " Unfortunately, we don't have a good answer for this.
The game has been scheduled at an annoyingly late time for years, and we don't see that changing any time soon. Somebody should at least bump this up by an hour. It's a weeknight, people!
