Ben Johnson not shying away from Caleb Williams throwing for 70%
Bears HC Ben Johnson has once again issued QB Caleb Williams the challenge of completing 70 percent of his passes in 2026.
The Chicago Bears saw an immediate impact pairing head coach Ben Johnson with quarterback Caleb Williams, as Johnson helped maximize Williams' potential in just one season. But there's still plenty to accomplish, including one goal where Williams fell well short of in 2025. Last summer, Johnson set a goal for Williams to complete 70 percent of his passes.
Despite Williams' success in the clutch, where he led an NFL-record seven fourth-quarter comebacks, his completion percentage was the one area that ranked near the bottom of the league. Williams completed 58. 1 percent of his passes, which was down from his 62.
1 completion percentage from his rookie season. Despite not hitting that goal last season, Johnson isn't shying away from issuing the challenge to Williams once again entering his third NFL season. After all, that's a mark that represents where Johnson and Williams want him to be in the league.
