New York Giants set to begin Phase One of the offseason workout program
The New York Giants will begin Phase One of the offseason workout program on Tuesday, with John Harbaugh and the coordinators addressing reporters.
Phase One of the New York Giants ' nine-week voluntary offseason workout program begins this week at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Players, coaches, and other personnel will be in the building starting on Tuesday, April 7. Phase One will run for the first two weeks of the program with activities "limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.
" It would behoove all players under contract to attend the offseason workout program as the team is operating under a new head coach, John Harbaugh, and three new coordinators. Matt Nagy is the new offensive coordinator, and Dennard Wilson takes the reins of the defense. Chris Horton will run the special teams and serve as assistant head coach.
The coaching staff consists of 18 assistants, 15 of whom are new to the Giants. Outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen, tight ends coach Tim Kelly, and wide receivers coach Chad Hall are the only three assistants returning from last season. Bullen will also take on the responsibility for the defensive run game coordinator role.
Also new this year are head athletic trainer, Adam Bennett, and Sam Rosengarten, who will serve as the director of high performance.
