In an alternate universe, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce could've made championship memories during March Madness. During the recent episode of New Heights, the brothers spoke with new University of Cincinnati men's basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun.
Kelce explained that he was almost ready to commit to West Virginia University after his visit. While Calhoun was an assistant under Bob Huggins, he was Kelce's point of contact. "You guys treat me like family.
Like I had never been treated before," Kelce said. "I was Jason's little brother, and Cincinnati didn't even give me this much attention. " Ed Kelce was revealed as the reason he stayed on the football route by making his son truly think about his decision.
Travis was forced to choose between a basketball and a football scholarship. "He (Ed Kelce) looked at me and said, 'You are a man of your word. You wanna be like these kids that commit to a university and de-commit, and now the integrity of your word doesn't mean anything?
