Wisconsin women's hockey superstar declares for PWHL draft

Yahoo Sports

To no surprise, Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey standout Caroline Harvey has declared for the 2026 PWHL Draft. Professional Women's Hockey League reporter Kyle Cushman confirmed the news, which made waves during the league's historic game between the New York Sirens and Seattle Torrent at Madison Square Garden. That night's PWHL game had a higher attendance than the New York Rangers game earlier in the day, which proves the incredible job the league has done in its short three-year history.

Now, an Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA National Champion has called her shot. Harvey can officially close the book on her mesmerizing collegiate career as she sets her sights on the PWHL. The New Hampshire native came from the North American Hockey Academy and left no doubts with the Badgers.

It's nearly impossible to find a better defensive player than Harvey, but somehow she's just as impressive on offense. As expected, Cushman double-downed on the fact that Harvey is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft.

While the league has not yet confirmed the date of the draft, it should be noted that the declaration period closes on May 8.
