Can UConn muck up another game and keep it close against Michigan? Three Free Press experts make their predictions for March Madness championship.

Michigan basketball has been the most dominant team in the 2026 NCAA Tournament . It didn't seem like Michigan could play any better after it beat Tennessee by more than 30 points in the Elite Eight in Chicago, but it took its game to the next level in the Final Four, crushing 1-seed and near co-favorite Arizona in the national semifinal, 91-73 . Can anyone stop Michigan at this point?

If there's a team that could, it might just be UConn, who has been to the national title game in three of the past four years. Few doubt there's a talent discrepancy between the two squads, with the Wolverines having the advantage, but as Duke and Illinois discovered, its not always about how much talent you have when facing Dan Hurley. Can the Huskies muck up another game and keep it close against Michigan?

Carlos Monarrez : Unless UConn coach Dan Hurley can conjure the spirt of 1992 Bobby Hurley (and Christian Laettner), the Huskies don’t stand much of a chance against the Wolverines’ size, defense and versatile scoring prowess.
