📲 Social posts deleted again: Bundesliga club takes swipe at rival Union Berlin’s social media department caused a stir on Sunday after the draw against St. Pauli. The reason: the Köpenick club took a swipe at VfL Wolfsburg after drawing 1-1 with the Hamburg side.
“Sometimes you have to look at the positives... ” Union wrote on X, among other things. They also shared a meme from the US series The Office .
It showed two men (boss and employee) shaking hands. Above them it read: “Wolfsburg relegation” (left), “Gift St. Pauli a point” (right).
The photo was also posted on Instagram. But apparently not everyone at the club shared that sense of humor. Shortly afterward, both posts were deleted.
At the same time, Union themselves are still fighting to stay in the Bundesliga. With six matchdays left, their lead over St. Pauli, who now occupy the relegation playoff spot, is only seven points.
