ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY Patrick Dorgu closing in on Red Devils ‘comeback’ Manchester United’s official Twitter/X account shared a snap of Dorgu in the gym last night, captioned: “Comeback pending”. Fans will be delighted with the update, given the scintillating form the young star had hit prior to his untimely setback. In his last seven Premier League appearances, Dorgu had notched a hugely impressive five goal contributions – the most recent of which came in the form of goals against the top two in the table, Arsenal and Manchester City, in the first two matches of Michael Carrick’s reign.
Previously, he had assisted against Burnley and Aston Villa and scored against Newcastle United. Dorgu will be chomping at the bit to pick up where he left off Originally signed as a full-back, Dorgu had been flourishing when occupying a more attacking role as a winger , so much so that he kept £62. 5 million summer signing Matheus Cunha out of the starting XI against City and the Gunners.
Only when he suffered his injury did Cunha reclaim his place. However, with the Brazilian also in superb form, it’ll be intriguing to see how Carrick navigates Dorgu’s return to the squad. It’s the best problem any manager can face: being spoilt for choice with thriving players.
