Luka Doncic will go to Europe to seek treatment on hamstring injury
Luka Doncic will reportedly seek treatment options for his injured hamstring in his native Europe.
After winning 16 of 18 games, the Los Angeles Lakers were dealt a brutal blow when Luka Doncic sustained a Grade 2 hamstring strain during Thursday's 139-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. There is no timetable for his return, but generally speaking, a Grade 2 hamstring strain can take three to six weeks to heal. While such an injury doesn't have to be a career-altering one, it is one that must be managed and treated correctly in order to prevent it from becoming a long-term problem.
Per Shams Charania of ESPN , Doncic will be heading to Europe to seek "specialized treatment" on his injured hamstring. "Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will fly to Europe to seek specialized treatment on his Grade 2 left hamstring strain, his agent, Bill Duffy of WME Basketball, told ESPN on Sunday," Charania wrote. "Doncic decided after consultation with Lakers doctors and his own medical team, after suffering the injury in Thursday's 134-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
" According to Duffy, Doncic isn't giving up on this season. "Though Grade 2 hamstring strains typically involve a monthlong recovery process, Duffy said Doncic is motivated to return to the Lakers' lineup during the playoffs -- which is a shared goal for Austin Reaves, who is out because of a Grade 2 left oblique muscle injury," Charania continued. The Slovenian had just finished off a sensational month of March during which he averaged 37.
