He stated, “Bastoni is an asset to Inter and Italian football, and that’s how we see him. “I’ve read that it’s almost a given that he’ll leave the club, but that’s not the case. Then, as with all players, these are issues we’ll address later.

Marotta did not hold back when defending his player from the backlash. He added, “The way he’s being vilified is shameful, as if he were guilty of who knows what. He doesn’t deserve that treatment.
