J.J. Spaun’s first words immediately after winning the Valero Texas Open

Spaun began the final round of the Valero Texas Open two shots back of the leader, Robert MacIntyre. However, he posted a superb round of five-under-par 67 in tricky conditions on Sunday at TPC San Antonio to win by a single shot. Spaun now has three PGA Tour wins to his name after his triumph at the Valero Texas Open.

Since his win at Oakmont, he has been in fairly poor form by his standards, so his victory this week will have been a very welcome one. J. J.
