70-Year-Old to Run His 41st Boston Marathon Alongside Broadway Performer Son, Who ‘Never’ Thought He’d Be a Runner (Exclusive)

The performer-turned-trainer tells PEOPLE he is looking forward to running the race with his dad

" His parents are both marathoners and his brother followed in his mom's footsteps by playing collegiate hockey. His brother and dad are also Ironman triathletes, the latter of whom has completed 27 Ironman races.

This year, Davis will be running the 130th Boston Marathon alongside his 70-year-old father, Michael Davis. Michael has run the famed race 40 times, 36 of which were consecutive. Nick, however, shares that his fitness background is a bit "non-traditional.

" Nick got his first professional dance role in the 4th grade and went on to perform for over 10 years. One of his biggest roles was a cast member in the Broadway national tour of Cats, but when the pandemic hit and theaters shut down, he started getting his trainer certifications. After being part of the 2024 Little Shop of Horrors cast, he turned to training full-time.

"I grew up as a competitive dancer and professional dancer, and it's so connected to the world of fitness that I made my way over here in a pretty swift transition. I'm following in the footsteps of my family.
