UFC women's bantamweight prospect Alice Pereira breaks down her flying knee KO at UFC Vegas 115.

LAS VEGAS – It looks like there will be more flying-knee knockouts in the UFC women's bantamweight division. Alice Pereira, a 20-year-old prospect, delivered one of the best knockouts in MMA so far this year with a nasty flying knee to the chin of Hailey Cowan (7-5 MMA, 0-3 UFC) at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 271 at the Meta APEX. It was a brutal finish, and one that was in the works all throughout the fight.

Pereira (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) assures the knockout was no fluke, as that type of attack is a fixture in her striking arsenal. "Flying knees have always been part of my game plans," Pereira said. "On my debut, I tried twice to hit a couple of flying knees, but it didn't work out.

Today, even before the knockout, I also threw some that were very close to hitting her, and the final one thankfully landed like we planned. I didn't actually know she was out when I hit the knee. I saw her face right after the knee looked a little bit off.

She fell down to the ground, and I saw her face was open, and the only thing in my mind was, 'I'm going to punch her face. I'm going to punch her face until the referee stops the fight. '" Pereira is the youngest female to ever compete in the UFC.
