Texas A&M is a finalist to land elite 2027 5-star WR
Texas A&M is one of 11 finalists for 2027 5-star WR Eric McFarland, who is set to take an OV to College Station on May 29.
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class is one of the hottest cycles in the country after landing five-star edge Zyron Forstall, who is considered one of the top pass rushers in the cycle, and should result in momentum throughout the offseason regarding one of his teammates at IMG Academy, 2027 five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland is on the cusp of announcing his commitment after revealing his final program list. After receiving a prediction to land with the Aggies, McFarland's versatility, track speed, and elite athleticism is similar to current star wide receiver Mario Craver , while his 5'8" frame makes him a "gadget player" who will thrive in the slot at the next level, and will immediately make an impact in the return game, especially as a punt returner. Under first-year offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins , who served as the Aggies' wide receivers coach over the past two seasons, has gained national respect as one of the top receiver recruiters, helping land the current freshman class that includes former blue-chip prospect Aaron Gregory , who has been one of the program's breakout players this spring.
Ahead of his official visit to College Station on May 29, McFarland will also consider Florida, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio State, and even UNLV moving forward, and will also take OVs to Georgia, Ohio State, and USC. Until we hear more, I consider the Aggies the favorites moving forward. According to 247Sports, McFarland is currently positioned as the 33rd-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 6th-ranked wide receiver, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Florida.
