The Michigan Wolverines received a notable injury update for star Yaxel Lendeborg ahead of Monday's national championship game.

The Michigan Wolverines appear to have avoided a major disaster with one of their best players. After star Yaxel Lendeborg went down in the first half of Saturday's Final Four matchup against the Arizona Wildcats with an apparent leg injury, the team is getting some positive news on his outlook. According to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel , Michigan's trainer Chris Williams said the MRI on Yaxel Lendeborgโ€™s knee looks โ€œvery clean structurally, all the ligaments are very strong.

โ€ Lendeborg returned for the second half against Arizona and had a huge impact in the blowout win, and there is confidence that he will be able to go for the championship game against the UConn Huskies on Monday night. After the game on Saturday night, Lendeborg said he would play, no matter what. Lendeborg had 11 points and was 3-for-3 from deep in the Final Four win over the Wildcats.

So far this year, he is averaging 15 points and seven rebounds per game for the Wolverines. With Lendeborg available to play, the Wolverines are heavy favorites over the Huskies in Monday night's championship game, listed at -7. 5, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
