INDIANAPOLIS – Tarris Reed Jr. ‘s college basketball life will come full circle in Monday night’s national championship game against Michigan . The UConn center will play the final game of his career against the program where it started, an opportunity he’s hoped for and spoken into existence since the potential of both teams was realized months ago.
Reed has maintained contact with the Michigan program, which he says will always hold a special place in his heart, and heard from former teammates like Will Tschetter , Nimari Burnett and Harrison Hochberg, who stayed after Juwan Howard was fired and replaced with Dusty May after Reed’s sophomore season. Reed sent them a text that said, “See you in Indy,” after pacing the Huskies’ thrilling comeback win in the Elite Eight over Duke. “It was a brotherhood, that was my first two years at Michigan, first school out of high school,” Reed said.
“But at the end of the day, it’s the game for the national championship. So I feel like they’re going to be coming at my neck, we’re going to be coming at their neck, it’s going to be a great, fun bloodbath and just a competitive game. ” “T-Reed is the light that you want to see in the world,” Tschetter said.
