Patrick Kane Patrick Kane went from hero to goat for the Detroit Red Wings in a matter of less than two minutes on Sunday. Just 1:47 after tying the score at 4-4 with his 15th goal of the season, Red Wings forward Kane needlessly tripped Minnesota Wild defenseman Quinn Hughes as he was going to the bench at the end of a shift.

Kirill Kaprizov completed his sixth career hat-trick on the ensuing power play to give the Wild a 5-4 victory. Defenseman Albert Johansson gave the Wings a 1-0 lead before the game was two minutes old. Then the game went completely wild.

Minnesota scored four unanswered second-period goals. Not yet done, the Red Wings rallied with three third-period goals to knot the count. Matt Boldy tied the score with his 41st of the season.

Then Kaprisov sandwiched a pair of goals around a tally by former Red Wings forward Vladimir Tarasenko. Defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka scored his seventh goal of the season for Detroit in the third period. Goals by JT Compher and Kane followed to tie the score at 4-4.
