NFL analyst says Falcons should sign former 49ers WR
CBS Sports names free-agent WR target for Falcons in 2026
The Atlanta Falcons still have a few needs to address after the first month of free agency, some of which they will likely fill during the 2026 NFL Draft. The wide receiver position is one area that the team should look to upgrade before the start of the season. The Falcons released veterans Darnell Mooney and KhaDarel Hodge before signing Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus as replacements in free agency.
While there are some interesting wide receiver prospects in the draft, including Georgia's Ted Hurst, free agency is still an option for this team. CBS Sports released a new feature highlighting the best fits for the top remaining free agents. Former 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings was listed as Atlanta's ideal target.
CBS Sports says Falcons should sign WR Jauan Jennings "Jennings could easily surpass both Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus to be WR2 for the Atlanta Falcons in 2026 behind only Drake London," wrote CBS Sports' Garrett Podell . "Stefanski runs an offense that is similar in structure to what Kyle Shanahan runs in San Francisco: an outside zone rushing offense built to create easy looks on play-action. Jennings could acclimate quickly to Atlanta's playbook, and he could also emerge as a key target in an NFC South division that's up for grabs every season.
" Jennings, a former seventh-round pick, had a career-high 77 receptions for 975 receiving yards in 2024. His production declined in 2025, but the 49ers dealt with quarterback injuries for much of the season. Even in a down year, Jennings had 643 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
