Texas A&M softball (26-12, 8-4 SEC) closed out Easter weekend with another statement performance, taking the rubber match from No. 11 Georgia to secure their third SEC series victory of the season. With the win, the Aggies have officially reached the halfway point of their conference schedule, and they’ve positioned themselves firmly in the national conversation as a potential regional host.

Still, inside the program, the message hasn’t changed. One game at a time. Head coach Trisha Ford has emphasized since opening day that this group would be tested weekly in the SEC, and that the margin for error would be razor‑thin.

The nonconference gauntlet was designed to prepare them for exactly this stretch, and Ford believes the team is now handling pressure with far more maturity. "I think they know what it takes to win at this level. " Senior infielder Kennedy Powell echoed that sentiment, pointing to the in‑game adjustments that helped A&M close out the finale .

"I think we understood what went wrong in the first game and just tried to come out the second game and make some adjustments. And we knew it was going to be a grind because it's the rubber match. Its the second game of the day and just making sure we came out and executed and did what we were supposed to do.
