The Los Angeles Dodgers will move shortstop Mookie Betts to the injured list following his MRI, per The Athletic’s Katie Woo. Betts underwent an MRI Saturday night following his early exit from the Dodgers’ 10-5 win over the Washington Nationals, and it revealed he suffered a right oblique strain. Mookie Betts will hit the IL after MRI results revealed a right oblique strain. Dave Roberts was hesitant to put a timetable on Betts, citing the unpredictable nature of oblique injuries, but is hopeful the time missed will be less than the standard 4-6 weeks. — Katie Woo (@katiejwoo) April 5, 2026 Roberts commented on Betts’ status after Saturday’s game.
“It’s certainly more moderate than significant,” Roberts said. “We’ll huddle up and see if we need to get a player here to protect against us, depending on how the MRI comes. But yeah, (Betts) certainly won’t be playing the next couple days, I would assume.
“…Disappointed for him. We’re sort of starting to get going a little bit, and the way he’s playing defense, and he’s a big part of what we do. Any time you miss, it’s gonna take some time to kind of get your footing.
