Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco agrees to Chelsea move
Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco agrees to Chelsea move RC Strasbourg Alsace midfielder Valentin Barco (21) has agreed to join fellow BlueCo-owned side Chelsea, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano . There will already be movement between Chelsea and Strasbourg this summer, with the latter’s club captain, Emanuel Emegha, making the move to Stamford Bridge, as already confirmed back in September. But there could be another high-profile exit, Romano understands.
Barco struggled to adapt at Brighton and Hove Albion, but since making the move to Strasbourg back in the winter of 2025, he has excelled to the extent that, in a new role in midfield, he has returned to the Argentina national team. He netted his first goal for the nation during the most recent international break. Romano now reports that Barco has agreed to a summer move to Chelsea.
The Argentine is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and so it all rests on Chelsea and whether they will give the green light for the deal, in the knowledge that they have the situation fully under control, given the ownership situation at RCSA. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
