Philip Rivers: Drake Thomas was "the guy who stood out" on Seahawks
There were so many players to appreciate on this year’s Seattle Seahawks team that we still haven’t spent enough time doing so for a lot of them. One of those names is linebacker Drake Thomas. While media members, myself included, haven’t appreciated Thomas nearly as much as we’d like, those closer to the game have.
According to Corbin K. Smith, he’s one of head coach Mike Macdonald’s favorite players. Drake Thomas is one of Mike Macdonald's favorite players.
Josh Jobe and Coby Bryant also fall in that bucket. That may wind up being the core #Seahawks move forward with. — Corbin K.
Smith (@CorbinSmithNFL) March 5, 2026 Back in November, when Thomas had only been starting for a little over a month, Daniel Jeremiah said he was becoming one of his favorite players. This was when he was even more unknown around the league than he is now. From the moment he took over, he was awesome.
This week, Philip Rivers said he was the one Seahawk who stood out in particular when playing against the historic 2026 defense. Philip River gives a shoutout to #Seahawks Drake Thomas on Seattle Sports: "The guy who stood out in our game was, and I'm not just saying this because he's a NC State guy, but Drake Thomas in our game to me was like "golly, he is everywhere. He is everywhere.
