Mike Norvell talks how LB room has performed during the spring
FSU is nine practices into their spring program. Head coach Mike Norvell talked on Saturday about the performance of the linebacker room so far.
The FSU Seminoles hit the field on Saturday for their ninth practice of the spring. Defensively, Florida State showed some improvement in their first year under defensive coordinator Tony White in 2025. One area that they looked to improve in during the offseason is the linebacker room as Ernie Sims takes over the position.
They added several transfers, and they're returning a number of guys as well. Head coach Mike Norvell was at the podium after practice, and he talked about where the linebacker room is currently. "I think our linebackers, I mean, you feel their explosiveness," Norvell said after the scrimmage.
"We've been able to add some great competition in the room. "You look at guys that have been here in Omar, Blake, A. J.
Cottrell's doing some nice things. I mean, you see those guys are really flying around, especially with some of those freshmen. Karon Maycock had a couple of great plays.
