Nebraska’s All-American AJ Ferrari — who transferred in last offseason to wrestle at heavyweight — will spend his senior season elsewhere.
In addition to Ferrari, Nebraska also saw talented freshman Ty Eise and backup 125-pounder Alan Koehler hit the portal. A BIG ONE: Former NCAA Champion & 3x All-American AJ Ferrari of Nebraska has hit the transfer portal. The 2026 Husker Heavyweight has 1st, 3rd, and 6th place finishes at the NCAA Championships & should have 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Ferrari then medically forfeited out of the tournament to place sixth. It’s unclear where Ferrari will land, but one thing is clear — he’s going back down to 197 pounds. The word is that Iowa is trying to bring in not only AJ, but also his younger brother Anthony who is transferring out of Campbell as a 165-pounder.
