Double-A: Hartford Yard Goats (COL) 4, Chesapeake Baysox 2 Luis De León’s 2026 season did not get off to a great start.
The lefty was wild to start with walks to the first two batters, followed by a throwing error on a double steal that allowed one run to score. A single brought in the second run of the inning, though mixed in with all that chaos De León did strike out the side. He also gave up solo runs in each of the third and fourth innings.
His final pitching line was 4 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. He allowed three stolen bases and had a pitch clock violation. After De León exited the game, the Yard Goats did not have another baserunner.
Ryan Long, Jeisson Cabrera, and Zane Barnhart combined to pitch four innings with no hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts. The Baysox offense had eight hits in the game, twice as many as Hartford. Too bad they don’t count that in the result.
