Notre Dame star Hannah Hidalgo brings home another national award
Notre Dame women’s basketball star Hannah Hidalgo added another national award for her junior season accomplishments.
It was a season to remember for Notre Dame women’s basketball star guard Hannah Hidalgo, and it got even better on Saturday evening . The Hoop Hall Women’s Positional Awards were announced, and the Irish’s best player took home the Nancy Lieberman Award, giving out to the best point guard in the country. It shouldn’t come as a surprise considering she broke the NCAA single-season steals record, while being named the ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season and also the WBCA National Defensive Player of the Year and All-American .
The junior was dominant this past season, averaging 25. 3 points-per-game, 6. 9-rebounds, 5.
2-assists, and 5. 6-steals. It’s a stat line that is unique, as no other player, in men’s or women’s basketball has hit those averages this century.
