Lakers reveal injury report for Sunday's game versus Mavericks

•Yahoo Sports

How short-handed with the Lakers be when they visit the Mavericks on Sunday?

In a span of just a couple of days, the Los Angeles Lakers have gone from looking like a gathering storm to being hit by a proverbial gathering storm. During their 139-96 thrashing at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, they lost Luka Doncic to a hamstring strain , and on Saturday, Austin Reaves was diagnosed with an oblique strain . Both players will be forced to miss multiple weeks of action as a result, and it couldn't have come at a worse time.

The Lakers are clinging to third place in the Western Conference with five games left in the regular season, and they have already been dealing with an injury to another key player. Veteran guard Marcus Smart will miss his seventh straight contest when they visit the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. In addition, forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who played well in garbage time on Thursday, is questionable due to calf soreness.

A. 's next game after Sunday will be on Tuesday against the Thunder, and they will then visit the Golden State Warriors on Thursday and host the Phoenix Suns on Friday. Since they have already clinched a playoff berth, they will mercifully have approximately a week off between their final regular-season game on Sunday, April 12 and the start of their first-round playoff series.
