The midfielder had to go off in the second half after picking up a knock in a fresh injury blow for Hansi Flickโs side. According to Gerard Romero, Bernal suffered an ankle problem against Atletico and will now undergo medical tests to determine the severity of the injury. Barcelona will be hoping the injury is not too severe as the Catalans face Atletico again in midweek in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Flick looks set to be without Frenkie de Jong for that game, as the Dutch star is still yet to be given the medical green light to return. Losing Bernal would be another blow and leave Flick short of options for the game. Marc Casado and Gavi are options along with Eric Garcia.
