Students, fans pack Ann Arbor bars to watch Michigan in Final Four
Fans on University of Michigan's campus spent Saturday evening anticipating the Final Four men's basketball game against Arizona.
Students and fans dressed in maize and blue gathered at downtown Ann Arbor bars and restaurants ahead of Michigan basketball taking on Arizona in the men’s Final Four game Saturday night. Lines wrapped around the side of Good Time Charley's and people waited outside Brown Jug and The Garage Bar by 7 p. m.
As University of Michigan men's basketball team prepared to take on the University of Arizona , fans around Ann Arbor and across campus anticipated the game. Hayden Rometty, a junior at UM, said he was at home in Farmington but came back to campus because he “wouldn’t rather be anywhere else right now. ” He said the other side of his bracket isn’t looking good because he choose Duke, but he’s hopeful his winning choice U-M will pull through with the national championship.
More: Michigan vs Arizona live Final Four updates: Prediction, odds, how to watch “I think if we play like we did against Tennessee and stay consistent and get on that big run early, if we can get on a big run in the first half, that can make a big difference. ” UM mechanical engineering graduate student Aleksandra Dudek said she had UM winning the men’s bracket and UCLA, her undergraduate Alma matter, winning her women’s bracket. She was excited to watch UM play tonight and hopefully get it closer to two winning brackets.
“It's super fun, and we decided to come out even though it's gonna be hectic,” she said of the atmosphere in Ann Arbor on game day. “We’re still excited to see everyone out here, and hopefully celebrate at the end. ” Paul Scheffler, came to Ann Arbor his wife Jessica Scheffler, 40, to watch the game at a bar after watching the Tiger’s game at Comerica.
