It's unfortunate that things have unfolded this way for the Blue Jays early on, but this is the reality of Major League Baseball. Instead of dwelling on it, the Blue Jays need to go out and make a move for a starter, and one idea from Patrick McAvoy of Sports Illustrated would help solve that. He believes there's an ideal starter for the Blue Jays to go after, and it's none other than Lucas Giolito, who is surprisingly still a free agent.

The 31-year-old made 26 starts for the Boston Red Sox in 2025 and logged a 3. 41 ERA across 145 innings of work. He also logged a 121-to-56 strikeout-to-walk ratio over that stretch.
