Is there a new young playmaker emerging for the Spartans this spring? New video clip suggests that to be the case

Michigan State football could have a young wide receiver emerging as an offensive threat this spring. Michigan State is just past the halfway mark of spring practice, with a few more weeks left before their Spring Showcase event on April 18. There has been some media availability and occasional clips from the practice sessions, but not a ton of insight to the early progression of the team under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald.

So that's why when I saw this clip of redshirt freshman wide receiver Bryson Williams starring on Saturday, I felt it was worthy of a post. In the clip embedded below, you'll see Williams make a few impressive plays and potentially showing early signs of a future playmaker for the Spartans this upcoming season. twitter. com/pdbHivLmzC — Michigan State Football (@MSU_Football) April 4, 2026 Williams, who is from Canton, Mich. , is in his second year with the Spartans.

He was a three-star prospect in the 2025 class and recently flipped from running back to wide receiver. He was clearly athletic in high school and showed the ability to make plays in some fashion for the Spartans, and that looks to be at wide receiver moving forward. Michigan State is going to need to essentially replace nearly all of its production from last year at wide receiver, with Chrishon McCray being the lone returning receiver with substantial production.
