Scary scene cuts Washington Huskies' third spring practice short
The Washington Huskies' third spring practice was cut short when sophomore running back Jordan Washington had to leave in an ambulance.
The Washington Huskies put their shoulder pads on and took to the field inside Husky Stadium for the first time during Saturday's spring practice; however, things were cut short due to a scary scene. During a scrimmage drill, after quarterback Demond Williams Jr. threw an interception deep over the middle of the field to Virginia transfer cornerback Emmanuel Karnley, and after the runback, running back Jordan Washington remained on the ground on the near side of the field by the defensive bench.
It didn't take long for him to be surrounded by members of the athletic training staff, who placed him on a backboard. According to a UW spokesperson, Washington was conscious, talking, and had movement in all his extremities before he was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital. A few hours after practice ended, Washington took to social media to confirm that he was ok.
Much love to you I appreciate you ! Iām all good ā Jordan Washington (@thatoneboy24) April 4, 2026 As the Huskies started to get comfortable with contact and their pads on, a lot of Saturday's practice was a bit of a feeling-out process, but it was clear that Jedd Fisch's team doesn't just have the size to compete with some of the Big Ten's top programs, but the talent as well. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from Saturday's practice.
Spring practice notebook Wide receiver Christian Moss and offensive lineman Geirean Hatchett were both in street clothes and did not practice on Saturday. Redshirt freshman receiver Bodpegn Miller made one of the most impressive plays of the day in a one-on-one drill working against sophomore cornerback Dylan Robinson. On a fade route, the Ohio State transfer showed off his elite athletic traits to go up and over the 6-foot-3, 205-pound cornerback to haul in a touchdown.
