Celtics' Nikola Vucevic takes another step toward an on-court return
The Boston Celtics have upgraded Nikola Vucevic to "questionable" on the injury report
Nikola Vucevic's Boston Celtics career has gotten off to a rocky start. The veteran big man has missed the last 14 games with a fractured ring finger on his right hand. With the regular season winding down, Vucevic will need to get back on the court sooner, rather than later, if he's to have any chance of getting himself back into game shape ahead of the postseason.
Fortunately for Vucevic, it would appear he's closing in on a return to the Celtics' rotation. On Saturday, April 4, he was upgraded from "Out" to "Questionable" on the team's injury report. While the upgrade itself is minimal, it does indicate that his return is imminent, and he could have a four- or five-game runway to try to build some momentum.
Vucevic was acquired by the Celtics at the Feb. 5 trade deadline, joining from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Anfernee Simons. Boston's fan base hasn't seen the best from the aging big man just yet.
In the 12 games he's played for the Celtics, Vucevic is averaging 10. 4 points, 7. 2 rebounds and 1.
