Texas A&M is one of four finalist to land 2027 5-star OT Mark Matthews, who recently visited College Station last month.
Texas A&M's spring season has completed eight practices, including back-to-back stays in the Bright Complex due to incoming inclement weather in College Station, as coach Mike Elko and his staff have made significant progress with the 2026 roster, which now includes 17 transfer portal additions and 26 newcomers from the 2026 signing class. On the recruiting trail, the 2027 cycle, filled with elite blue-chip talent at every position, especially along the offensive line, and over the past three weekends, the Aggies have hosted several five-star O-linemen in the class, including Florida-based tackle Mark Matthews, who is now down to four schools ahead of his commitment announcement later this year. After making his way back to College last month, Texas A&M offensive line coach Adam Cushing has continued to build upon an already strong relationship , and while the Miami Hurricanes remain a slight favorite to land the standout tackle, Texas A&M, along with LSU and Georgia, represent his four finalists who will all receive official visits this summer.
Mark Matthews possesses the physical tools and athleticism to become a future first-round NFL Draft selection, currently standing at 6'6" and over 300 pounds.
