' The 24-year-old Chicago Bears quarterback didn't know that Hall-of-Fame basketball player George Gervin also used to go by that moniker. Front Office Sports released an interview with Williams on Friday, and the Bears' signal caller shared his side of the story about the intentions to trademark his nickname, 'Iceman.

' "It's funny because I didn't know," Williams said. "My dad probably knows his nickname was that, but it's not between me and George or anything like that, it's more or less people making clothing or people making things like that. And I can't control what people are making of me or anything like that and putting the name on it.

So, it's just to control that aspect of it. That was the main reason of doing it. " Scroll through social media, and you will find some kind of Williams T-shirt with a silhouette of him throwing off-platform with the words 'Iceman.

' It shouldn't take long to find. Williams mentioned that he didn't know Gervin went by the nickname as well. Gervin played 14 years of professional basketball.
