The setting – Rory McIlroy’s annual summit, an event he hosts with all his partners, held at Ohoopee Match Club in Georgia. Rory Inc. has become big business and attracts some big names.
Executives from TaylorMade and Nike and Optum and J. P Morgan Chase were there. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan is a regular, and this year new Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, Masters Chairman Fred Ridley and DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings all turned up.
About 60 people in all ringed the room. Conor Moore, the impressionist, had everyone in stitches. Dinner had been served, drinks were flowing and dessert was on the way out.
