The 12th hole at Augusta National Golf Club has claimed another victim.

The 12th hole at Augusta National has claimed another victim. On Saturday, it was Augusta National Women's Amateur co-leader Asterisk Talley. Tied at 13 under with Maria Jose Marin during the final round, Talley hit her tee shot long into the back bunker.

From there, she blasted out but hit it too hard, her ball rolling across the green and into the water. Talley then decided to drop in the bunker but her fourth produced the same result, finding the water again. Before hitting her next shot, she walked back across the Hogan Bridge to drop again.

Her sixth shot finally found the green and she holed a putt from about 15 feet for a quadruple-bogey seven on the par 3. Just a few minutes prior, Andrea Vuelta burned the edge on a near ace at No. 12, but for Talley, her 2026 ANWA title hopes likely came to an end on the hole that has a history of causing leaders to implode at Augusta National (remember Jordan Spieth in 2016?

). Talley headed to the 13th tee box at 9 under, five shots back of Marin. Rory McIlroy happened to join the NBC telecast for a quick Q&A just moments later and he shared some insight on what happened to Talley.
