The Boston Celtics quickly jumped out to a lead in their 133-101 beatdown of the Milwaukee Bucks, and never looked back in their wire-to-wire victory over their Eastern Conference foe on Friday (April 3) evening. The Celtics shooting 56 percent from the floor overall (and a sizzling 46 percent from beyond the arc as well) certainly did not hurt Boston's push for the win, and winning the shot margin 89-83 did not either. The Celtics won the battle of the boards 48-30, got to the line 19 times to 13 (converting 84 percent to 77), and logged 33 assists to the Bucks' 24.
All of this combined for an epic shellacking of Milwaukee, who played without a number of their better players in what has been a tough campaign for the Bucks even when healthy. With the win, the Celtics improved to 52-25 on the season, and all but locked up their claim as the second seed in the Eastern COnference standings as the postseason draws near.
