Neymar’s situation has been a central topic. He has not featured for Brazil since suffering a knee injury in October 2023, and despite expectations of a return, he remains out amid injuries and Carlo Ancelotti’s technical decisions. In that context, Fonseca has responded to whether he thinks the former Barcelona star should feature in the next World Cup.

It’s a very controversial question, but I am in favour of Neymar playing in the World Cup,” the 19-year-old said.
He pointed to Neymar’s experience as a key factor, despite acknowledging his limits in the debate. “I think his career and experience will be an important factor. But, obviously, I’m not the biggest football expert, I can’t say anything definitive, it’s just my opinion,” he concluded.
