Peter Campbell scored a late free-kick to rescue a 1-1 draw for Glenavon in a feisty mid-Ulster derby against Portadown at Mourneview Park. The result moves the Lurgan Blues off the bottom of the table and ahead of moved Crusaders on goal difference with four games remaining. It took just nine minutes for the Portadown to open the scoring, with Josh Ukek driving through the middle of the pitch before finding the bottom left-hand corner with a precise finish beyond the helpless Jacob Carney in goal.

Lurgan Blues boss Michael O'Connor made an attacking double change at the break as he looked to claw his side back into the game, and his substitutions definitely had a positive effect on Glenavon's attacking threat in the second half. Despite creating several opportunities, the hosts were unable to really test Alex Moore in the Portadown goal, who dealt with several shots routinely. That was until the 84th minute when the hosts finally had their equaliser.

Substitute Campbell struck his free-kick under the wall from the edge of the box to draw his side level with just six minutes remaining. Goalscorer Campbell was then shown a second yellow card in the dying stages, but it didn't have an impact on the outcome as it finished 1-1 at Mourneview Park.
