Trenches, secondary take center stage for 49ers in 5-round mock draft
The 49ers add depth in the front and back of their defense in this new 5-round mock draft.
It's hard to make top-to-bottom upgrades in the draft, but the San Francisco 49ers have the opportunity to do so with all six of their picks in the first 140 selections, including four picks in the fourth round. The 49ers don't pick until No. 27 overall in the first round, but they can still add some top talent at positions of need throughout all three days of the draft.
NFL. com's Chad Reuter went through the first five rounds in his new draft and focused almost exclusively on the trenches and the secondary for San Francisco. He selected three trench players (two on the offensive line and one of the defensive line) and two defensive backs.
The only other position Reuter drafted was receiver. Here is the latest five-round mock draft for the 49ers from NFL. com: Round 1, Pick No.
27: Arizona State OT Max Iheanachor Round 2, Pick No. 59: Texas CB Malik Muhammad Round 4, Pick No. 127: Alabama EDGE LT Overton Round 4, Pick No.
