Promoter reveals surprising venue and date for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly signed up to fight this autumn, but the big shock is that it won’t be in the UK. Instead, they’re set to meet in Dublin. The two former champions still carry serious weight in boxing circles, even though they’ve lost six times between them.

They were supposed to fight several times before – most notably in 2021 when they held all the belts – but interest hasn’t faded since then. Fury has strong ties to Ireland through his family background and time as an amateur champion there. Even so, it’s not a typical location for major pay-per-view events, with most expecting a big fight like this to land in London or Manchester.

The idea of taking the fight outside of Britain could help both fighters find some middle ground. But many fans will still be hoping the venue changes before it’s finalised. Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua reportedly scheduled for Dublin Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images During a press conference ahead of Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder, seasoned promoter Kalle Sauerland told IFL TV that not only is a deal in place for Fury vs Joshua, but that the date and venue have also been agreed.

Sauerland, who’s promoting the event where Joshua will be present with Eddie Hearn, told IFL TV: “There’s actually quite a lot at stake for these two [Chisora and Wilder] because I think the winner does go and fight Oleksandr Usyk next. ” He then added that “I think Fury-AJ is done for the Autumn in Dublin,” which reporter Joe Pugh doubled down on to clarify. “That’s what I’ve heard, done for Dublin in I think September/October.

” When Pugh asked ‘is that out there’, he replied: “Have I put my foot in it? That’s what I’ve heard, word on the street. ” Katie Taylor could also be fighting there around that time as she looks to bring her career to an end at Croke Park, which holds more than 82,000 fans.
