With his physical condition and consistency still at an elite level, McEnroe was optimistic about what could come next for the Serbian. He stated: “I don’t know how many more he’s going to win, but it’s hard to see him not win a minimum of two or three more.

” He reinforced his reasoning by comparing Djokovic to rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, both of whom won three Grand Slams after turning 35. “Novak is probably the best of those three athletically,” he added, pointing to his durability and ability to stay injury-free for long stretches. New generation halts Djokovic’s momentum However, that projection has not materialised so far.

Since lifting his 24th major, Djokovic has been unable to secure another title, with the rise of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner reshaping the men’s game. The Serbian has still remained competitive, reaching two Grand Slam finals and several semi-finals. Yet, across his last nine appearances at majors, he has been eliminated five times by either Alcaraz or Sinner, while also retiring injured in three events.
