Eric Gentry's ceiling as a versatile defensive player could be reached in Las Vegas with the Raiders

Eric Gentry has the makeup of a good football player who provides high value to an NFL organization. His (light) weight offers cause for concern, but his instincts and height still make him a very interesting prospect heading into the NFL draft. In a good situation, he can be a great player.

In a recent mock draft , credible analyst Matt Miller has Eric Gentry being selected to be a part of the Raiders ' new era and new defensive culture. Miller has the Raiders selecting Gentry in the fifth round with pick 175. The Raiders made big moves in free agency, especially at the linebacker position, with the signings of Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker.

Maxx Crosby is back and expected to rejoin this defense this season and maybe in the future. The defense should be much improved, adding someone with a high ceiling like Eric Gentry in the 5th round adds the necessary depth this defense needs. Eric Gentry has the height to be a menace in pass coverage, batting balls down, and covering passing lanes.

He is also a sure tackler, and he can provide a pass rush. With the addition of Eric Gentry, the Raiders will come from one of the worst linebacker rooms last season to now a potential top room in the NFL. Nakobe Dean will provide the leadership that this defense as a whole has been missing, and Quay Walker will provide a talent upgrade.
